Look What THEY did for Me!
While talking with a client, we traveled into the arena of "getting new customers." My client was attempting to build their customer base and wanted to know the easiest way I knew to do it. My response was, "depends on the business." My client really hates when I wing a short response his way and asked me to clarify.
So I started clarifying the statement by asking, "Have you ever had anyone come up to you and say to you something like...'Look what THEY did for me!' with a heavy emphasis on ‘they?'" My client sat back and reflected a moment and responded, "Boy! That's a tough one. Can't really recall that happening to me."
And that's just the problem. Most people are just like my client and respond the same way. Products and services in this country for the most part are provided to the masses to satiate "needs." The result is that the end user walks away "satiated" only and quite silent in their contentment. They got their needs met and that about it.
Wheither you're in business or dealing with people on a more personal venue, there's a way to change this so you have people talking about you in a real good way.
