Business by Exception
It's not a terrible deep concept to grasp. It doesn't take much thought to conclude that it makes sense. It's not even something that can't be seen if one merely opens their eyes to the results. What am I talking about? It's what happens when a person starts doing business by exception.
Now I'm not talking about creating an exceptional business, although the results that you take away with you consequently may very well produce one. What I'm talking about is what many people do that prevents them from having an exceptional business and for that matter, an exceptional life.
Let me explain.
Let's say you choose to go into business or accept a position within a business. To succeed in that position weither it's owner/operator or employee, it's already decided that you're going to do business a certain way that promotes the business' success. Certain standards are set initially to assure the end-in-mind. Add to this, specific procedures that are to be followed to uphold those standards - standards that must be upheld during the day to day running of the operations.
By following the process designed to honor standards which cause specific outcomes, you have success. Or at least, that's what's intended. Many people in business don't follow through on the very plans they've made. This is where the word "sabotage" comes in.
